Discovering Electronic Music

I was having a browse through some videos on YouTube, and I came across a 3 part program from the 1970's about electronic music which I thought was quite interesting. It gives a really good introduction to sound synthesis, which is still relevant today. The videos can be watched from the following links:

Of particular geeky excitement is the many references and demonstrations of the old Fairlight Computer Music Studio. This thing back in the 70's could laterally cost more than a house, a street infact!! It is a synth, sampler and sequencer in one computer and keyboard unit. By today's standards it is not very powerful at all, but back then it was an incredibly powerful tool. It was used lots by Jarre and the Pet Shop Boys. All in all an interesting set of videos, hope you enjoy them :-)
