Idiot Spammers

One thing that really pisses me off is spammers. Not only do I have to wade through loads of junk email in the week, I am also getting spammed in the comments on this blog. Please can people only leave comments on this blog that are actually related to the articles or not at all!!!

So to the muppets who are selling rash protectors and property in Wales, please bugger off and pester someone else before I report you to Blogger.

I really don't like forced advertising and marketing, it's bad enough on TV. But this reminds me of a great sketch from the late Bill Hicks which I think is very appropriate:

"By the way, if anyone here is in advertising or marketing, kill yourself. No, this is not a joke: kill yourself . . . I know what the marketing people are thinking now too: 'Oh. He's going for that anti-marketing dollar. That's a good market.' Oh man, I am not doing that, you fucking evil scumbags."

There! I feel much better now I have got that off my chest.

Mini beer festival

Yesterday Me and Neil went to a small Beer festival at the Cross Keys Pub in Belper. They had lots of beers there that night which all had a nautical theme. They had beers such as Nelson, Trafalga, Roger the Cabin Boy and Friggin In The Riggen. All the beers were very nice that we tried and they were served out of a jugs instead of a pump. I've not really drank in the Cross Keys before, but we had a good evening there, so I will have to go again.

I tried 6 beers from what I can remember, but jesus did I feel rough the next day. I'll never learn :-)

Today Me and Amanda went up to Newcastle for Frans birthday (Amandas sister). We got there around 12 in the afternoon and went straight to the resturant were we was having lunch. We went to the Cook and Barker Inn. I had duck and pigeon, which was very nice. All of the family was there, probably around 15 people in total.

Cumberland Sausage

A while ago whilst working for my previous company one of the programmers Richard decided to quit the company and go traveling around the world with his camera and girlfriend. During his travels he maintain a detailed blog with some absolutely awesome photos from around the world. I've added a link to it here for people to read. After reading most of this blog it makes me want to quit work and go traveling my self. I wish I could afford to do that :-(

Richard is the 4th person to quit the company and go traveling around the world. Just what was it with that place that made people want to leave the country :-)

Have you ever watched a commercial on TV and wondered what that cool tune was, well now you can find out with the 'Commercial Breaks and Beats' website. Very handy if like me you like to find new things to listen too.

Silly Place Names

Amanda sent me this link today. You type in your post code (if you live in the UK) and it tells you all the places with stupid names that are near you.

For example near us we have places called, Butthole lane, Dirty gutter, Penistone, and Cottagers. You also get links to multimap so you can see were they are. Totally useless, but good for a laugh :-)

R.I.P Ronnie Barker

Whilst traveling to work today I read in the news paper that the comedy genius Ronnie Barker had passed away. This truly is a sad day as he was one of the greatest comedy actors and writers ever to grace our TV screens. He was most popular for his double act show The Two Ronnies with Ronnie Corbett and his sitcom programs Porridge (which I used to watch as a kid) to Open All Hours. You can just imagine him at the pearly gates saying "Ey up GGGGGGGGG God, can you let me in". And if you don't know who Ronnie Barker is that will mean bugger all to you :-)
